A woman was taken by air ambulance to an area hospital Sunday evening after a four-vehicle wreck on Texas 149 just outside of Carthage. Captain Randy Liedtke of the Carthage Fire Department said the call was received about 5:15 p.m. The three other drivers were not taken to a hospital, he said. The identity and condition of the victim were unknown as of Sunday night, as was the hospital where the injured driver was taken The wreck occurred about a mile outside of the loop, he said.
