Support, donations soar for Midtown tattoo artist injured in motorcycle crash

Midtown tattoo artist Joe Stamp has inked several hundred people in the Memphis area since moving from Michigan in 2003. And many of them are coming to his aid after Stamp, 34, was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Monday.Support has soared for Stamp, an artist at No Regrets Tattoo Emporium and father of twin 1-year-old girls. About $7,400 from 122 donors had been collected online by early Friday morning, with thousands more in donations expected from upcoming fundraisers organized by local businesses and No Regrets co-owner Michael Crites.

P & H Cafe will host a St. Patrick’s Day benefit featuring music acts and “Sloppy Joes for Joe” prepared by Acre restaurant chef David Todd. All sales of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer during the benefit will be donated to Stamp, P & H co-owner Robert Fortner said.“We’ve all known Joe for years, so he’s just like family,” he said.

“We all knew we had to do something.”Stamp was traveling eastbound on Southern Avenue in the University of Memphis area when his Harley Davidson was struck. The driver of a Honda Accord on Echles did not see him, and collided with Stamp while turning west onto Southern, according to a police incident report.
