Seattle, WA: One Seriously Injured In South Seattle crash on I-5 in Thursday afternoon - 23rd October 2014
A couple collisions on southbound Interstate 5 in Seattle caused miles of backups Thursday afternoon.
One collision occurred in one of the right lanes about 2:25 p.m. near Boeing Access Road when a semi truck hit a passenger car, causing it to flip over. Fire crews arrived and cut the roof off a car to extricate a patient, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The person inside was not seriously hurt.
The state Department of transportation reported an eight-mile backup on southbound I-5 and a three-mile backup on the northbound side in the area.
The scene has since been cleared.
Another collision occurred about two miles north of that site about the same time, complicating traffic.
