Seattle, WA: One Seriously Injured In South Seattle crash on I-5 in Thursday afternoon - 23rd October 2014

A couple collisions on southbound Interstate 5 in Seattle caused miles of backups Thursday afternoon. One collision occurred in one of the right lanes about 2:25 p.m. near Boeing Access Road when a semi truck hit a passenger car, causing it to flip over. Fire crews arrived and cut the roof off a car to extricate a patient, according to the Seattle Fire Department. The person inside was not seriously hurt. The state Department of transportation reported an eight-mile backup on southbound I-5 and a three-mile backup on the northbound side in the area. The scene has since been cleared.
