ATV driver faces drunken driving charge after crash on March, Sunday 25th 2018
A 38-year-old Palmer man remained hospitalized Sunday after an all-terrain vehicle crash at Routes 9 and 67 Saturday afternoon.
Police said the driver faces numerous charges, including drunken driving, failing to stop at a stop sign, driving with a revoked license and failing to wear a helmet.
The man was driving a Yamaha Rhino on a public road and apparently came into West Brookfield on Route 67 (Boston Post Road) before the crash occurred.
West Brookfield police Sgt. Matthew Letendre said the Yamaha driver was attempting to turn left onto Route 9 when he lost control, sending the ATV spinning and over a guardrail.
The driver was flown to UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester. Police said his injuries were not life-threatening.
