Temple, TX : Belton student killed in accident on Saturday afternoon, May 21, 2016

A 16-year-old Belton student was killed in a traffic accident on Saturday afternoon, according to a press release from Temple Police..

Temple Police responded to an accident at around 3:45 p.m. in the 10000 block of State Highway 317 and FM?2483.

Police said the 16-year-old male subject, who police did not identify, was driving a 2008 Hyundai and attempted to pass in a no-passing zone and was struck by the trailer of an 18-wheeler.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Ted Duffield.
The accident is still under investigation.
