Tarboro, NC : 26 migrant workers injured when their bus is rear-ended by tractor trailer on US 64 in Edgecombe County on Monday, Sep 21, 2015

The North Carolina Highway Patrol says 26 migrant workers have been hurt after the bus they were in was rear-ended by a tractor trailer on U.S. 64 in Edgecombe County.

Troopers said in a news release that most of the injuries were minor, but two of the workers were seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Greenville.

Authorities say the bus was going about 45 mph around 6 a.m. Monday when the flatbed trailer going about 60 mph hit it from behind near Tarboro.

Troopers say the truck driver, 31-year-oid Aaron Moore of McLeansville, has been cited with failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

The Highway Patrol says the driver of the bus was also cited because he did not have the proper driver's license.
