Ardmore, AL : Charles Wayne Gates, 69, killed in pedestrian collision with hit-and-run driver on Alabama 251 in Limestone County on Thursday, April 7, 2016

Police have identified the pedestrian killed Thursday.

ALEA says Charles Wayne Gates, 69, of Ardmore was struck and killed by a 2014 Kia along Alabama 251 in Limestone County, four miles south of Ardmore.

Gates was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, a woman from Toney did not remain at then scene was apprehended by local authorities.

She was not injured. We are working to find out if she has been charged.

Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
