TAYLOR, MI : Man charged in suburban Detroit crash that killed girl, 12 on Friday, 5th February 2021

A man has been charged following a fatal crash in suburban Detroit that killed a 12-year-old girl and injured her 45-year-old guardian.

Noah Damron, 20, of Taylor, was arraigned Friday on operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death, reckless driving causing death and other charges, according to the Wayne County prosecutor’s office.

The girl died Wednesday after the SUV she was riding in was struck by a car in Taylor, southwest of Detroit.

A husband and wife, legal guardians of the girl, were in the SUV. The woman sustained multiple injuries and was hospitalized.

Damron was being held on a $2 million bond. He has a Feb. 12 probable cause conference.

The Associated Press was unable Friday to determine if Damron has an attorney.
