CHILTON COUNTY, AL : 2 dead, others injured in crash on I-65 in Chilton County on Thursday, 26th September 2024
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed the deaths of two Tennessee residents and the injuries of others following a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning along Interstate 65.
ALEA says Ronnie G. Smith, 66, and Teasha S. Biggs, 44, both of Dickson, Tenn., were killed when the the 2005 Toyota Tundra they were passengers in left the roadway and overturned. The crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. along Interstate 65 at mile marker 198 in Chilton County. That about 25 miles north of Montgomery.
ALEA investigators said neither victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Tundra, Ernest H. Biggs III, 56, also of Dickson, was taken to Ascension St. Vincent’s Chilton Hospital in Clanton for treatment. A 12-year-old passenger, whose name was not released, was also transported to an area hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
