Northeast Portland, OR : Pedestrian badly hurt in NE Portland hit-and-run crash at 109th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard on Thursday, 31st January 2019

A pedestrian was badly hurt early Thursday when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Northeast Portland, police say.

Portland police said the crash happened about 3:50 a.m. at 109th Avenue and Sandy Boulevard. Investigators think a driver in a dark-colored sedan hit the man, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of what are thought to be serious injuries.

The sedan was seen leaving the area, police said, but officers couldn’t find it.

No additional information about the circumstances of the crash were immediately released.

Police said 109th Avenue will be closed south of Sandy Boulevard during the investigation.
