FORT WAYNE, IN : A 33-year-old Angola woman was killed in a head-on crash on Tuesday, August 8, 2017
A 33-year-old Angola woman was killed in a head-on crash after police said she pulled away from an attempted traffic stop.
According to an Indiana State Police report, a Steuben County Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by Ebonie Geddes on around midnight. At some point after that, Geddes reportedly ran the light at Old U.S. 27 and S.R. 120.
Her car then went left of center and hit a black 2008 Chevrolet Blazer that was traveling southbound on Old US 27 head on.
Geddes was pronounced dead at the scene by blunt force trauma. The driver of the Chevrolet, 17-year-old Haley Bracewell, and her front seat passenger, 45-year-old Eric Bracewell, both of Kent City, Michigan, were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne with non-life threatening injuries.
It’s not clear why Geddes failed to stop for the officer. The report said toxicology results are pending.
