Volusia County, FL : Motorcyclist and passenger died in a crash on North U.S. Highway 1 in Oak Hill on Monday night, February 22, 2016

A motorcyclist and passenger died as a result of a crash in Oak Hill Monday night, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 7:32 p.m. Deputies went to 351 North U.S. Highway 1 in Oak Hill in reference to a traffic crash involving a motorcycle.

The driver of a Ford F-150 was exiting the parking lot of the Oak Hill Flea Market when he pulled into the path of a motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the driver's side of the truck, according to officials. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger on the motorcycle suffered injuries and was transported by EVAC to the hospital, and was later pronounced dead.

The roadway was closed down during the crash investigation.
