Wilmington police and fire officials are on the scene of a fatal accident on Carolina Beach Road.
Police spokeswoman Jennifer Dandron said a pedestrian was struck and killed about 5:30 p.m. near Legion Stadium.
The road was closed off in both directions as of 8 p.m. Saturday.
