Gainesville, FL : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Sunday on Sunday, March 26th 2017

A 44-year-old Gainesville man died following a motorcycle accident on County Road 225 in Alachua County Sunday afternoon.

Todd Dwight Kirby was taken to UF Health Shands Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a Florida Highway Patrol media release.

Kirby was on a 1999 Harley-Davidson southbound on CR 225 around 3:39 p.m. and entered a sharp curve to the left. The bike went off the right side of the road, and Kirby lost control, according to FHP. He was thrown from the motorcycle as it rolled over on the shoulder.

He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
