Billings,MT ; Billings man dies after hit-and-run crash on Monday, 4th June 2018
The 20-year-old victim of a hit-and-run crash last week died from his injuries Saturday evening, Billings police said Monday.
The man was identified as Sterling Bruder-Dominguez by the Yellowstone County Coroner's Office on Monday. He died at St. Vincent Healthcare.
The woman accused of hitting him with her car will likely face new charges as a result of his death, including vehicular manslaughter, county attorney Scott Twito said Monday.
Tesha Dawn Williams, 22, was charged last week with three felonies in connection with the incident: negligent vehicular assault, criminal endangerment and failure to stop or remain at an accident scene involving death or personal injuries. Her arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday in Yellowstone County District Court.
Williams also faces two misdemeanor counts of driving with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without proof of liability protection in effect.
Bruder-Dominguez and a woman between 18 and 20 years old were walking on Eighth Street West early May 29 when Williams drove up in an older model yellow Mustang, according to charges.
The pair heard squealing tires before the car struck the man from behind, narrowly missing the woman, she later told police. The impact threw the man several feet forward, she said, and the car continued north, turning east onto Grand Avenue.
When police arrived shortly after 1:30 a.m., they found the man lying on his back in the street with his neck on the curb. An ambulance transported him to St. Vincent Healthcare with life-threatening injuries.
