A man was in critical condition after an accident involving a tow motor Saturday morning, police said.
Around 8:45 a.m., Ansonia police responded to North Prospect Street Extension for an accident that involved a tow motor. Police said the first officer at the scene found an overturned tow motor and a 47-year-old man with a severe head wound.
The man found at the scene was also believed to have been in cardiac arrest, police said.
The man was working for a subcontractor for Lowes Home Improvement to deliver wood when the tow motor overturned, said police, who did not release the man’s name.
Emergency personnel and police officers provided medical assistance to the man before he was transported to Griffin Hospital for evaluation, police said. The victim was transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital and is in critical conditions, police said.
The accident remains under investigation by Ansonia police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
