Fallbrook,CA : Driver dies in Fallbrook crash, car lands in ditch on December, Wednesday 27th 2017

An Oceanside man died late Wednesday night when he missed a curve in the road in Fallbrook, crashed into a boulder and ended up in a ditch, authorities said.

The name of the 45-year-old man was not released.

He was driving north along narrow, winding Olive Hill Road but took a left-hand curve too widely and veered onto the right shoulder, where the car hit a boulder, California Highway Patrol Officer Mark Latulippe said.

The impact caused the Nissan Sentra to roll over, partly ejecting the driver, Latulippe said.

The car kept going and hit a tree as it ended up in a ditch.

Latulippe said it appeared that the driver wasn’t using a seat belt.

The crash was reported about 11:50 p.m. Officers closed the road intermittently as they investigated over the next several hours. The roadway was fully open about 2:30 a.m.
