JEFFERSON COUNTY, CO : Child killed in crash on I-70 in the foothills on Friday, 10th August 2018

A 2-year-old girl was killed in a crash on westbound I-70 in the foothills west of Denver Friday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol. The 28-year-old woman driving a silver car is being investigated for suspicion of DUI. The child was in her car.

The crash involved two vehicles and it happened at about 3:10 p.m.

Westbound I-70 was closed at the Lookout Mountain exit during the investigation. It reopened around 7 p.m.

State patrol investigators said the silver car in the photos was traveling eastbound on I-70 and crossed into the westbound lanes and hit the pickup truck.

Both drivers were injured and taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not released. The state patrol said there was a passenger in the pickup truck, but a spokesperson did not know if that person was hurt or taken to a hospital.
