LANSING, MI : Pedestrian critically injured in Lansing crash on East Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital on Sunday, 12th January, 2020

An elderly woman was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle Sunday night on East Michigan Avenue near Sparrow Hospital, police said.Officers were called to the area about 7 p.m. and found the 83-year-old woman unconscious but breathing, Lansing police Public Information Officer Robert Merritt said. She had been walking in the area.

The woman was initially reported in critical condition. There was no update on her condition Monday.

The driver of the vehicle was cooperating with police, and drug or alcohol use are not believed to have been factors in the crash, Merritt said.
