LA FERIA, TX : 14 year old dies in ATV accident Near Highway 281 in La Féria near Cobarrubias Road on Wednesday, 6th June 2019

Last night in La Féria three teens were involved in a fatal ATV accident.

Near Highway 281 in La Féria near Cobarrubias Road deputies noticed an ATV was upside down on the side of the road, with people on the ground. EMS confirmed that Nestor Vasquez, 14 years old was not responding. Two passengers Marivella Villarreal, 15, and driver of the ATV Victor Fuentes, 17, were all transported to the hospital. Vasquez was pronounced dead.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said the driver was driving a high speed when it crashed into drainage ditch.

When they hit the canal the ATV was lifted off the ground and ejected the teens several feet in air.
The teens landed 99 feet away from the ATV.

The accident is under investigation.
