Gary, IN : One person dead one injured in Tri-State crash on Monday

A 30-year-old Texas man has died and another man was injured but faces charges after a single-car crash by a Tri-State tollbooth near southwest suburban Hickory Hills early Monday.
The crash happened around 4 a.m. on the southbound entrance ramp at I-294 and 95th Street, according to Illinois State Police.
The car’s passenger Anthony C. Urbina 30, Arlington, TX, was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene, according to state police.
The driver, a 29-year-old man from Winnie, Texas, was taken initially in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but his condition has stabilized and charges are pending against him, according to state police.
The 29-year-old was driving a white, 4-door Ford and as he tried to exit at 95th Street, he ran off the road and into a ditch where it the car flipped and Urbina was ejected, state police said.
State police officials closed the ramp as investigators collected evidence.
The road reopened about 7:30 a.m.
