SHARON, PA : 3 injured, 2 vehicles damaged in accident in the area of the 600 block of South Dock Street on Tuesday, 8th September, 2020
Three people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on South Dock Street.
Police were dispatched about 2:54 p.m. to a head-on collision in the area of the 600 block of South Dock Street. Sharon police Chief Edward Stabile said a Cadillac sedan was traveling south on South Dock Street and crossed into the northbound lane, where it hit a Chevrolet pickup truck hauling a trailer.
Both drivers suffered unknown injuries and were taken from the scene by ambulance, while the driver of the sedan had to be removed from the vehicle by firefighters. A passenger in the pickup truck also was injured but not transported by ambulance, Stabile said.
The occupants’ identities were not available Wednesday, Stabile said.
Immediately after the accident, emergency responders redirected traffic around South Dock between East Budd Street and French Street. Stabile said responders cleared the scene about 4:14 p.m.
The accident is still under investigation but police could issue traffic-related citations, Stabile said. Assisting Sharon police at the scene was the Farrell Police Department, Sharon Fire Department, McGonigle Ambulance Service and Elite EMS, Stabile said.
