Baltimore, MD : Police officer injured in hit-and-run motorcycle crash in the 4200 block of Moravia Road on Sunday night, Nov 8, 2015

An off-duty Baltimore police officer is in critical but stable condition after a hit-and-run crash involving his motorcycle Sunday night in the city.

The officer, who was not identified by police Monday morning, was driving a motorcycle west in the 4200 block of Moravia Road around 9:25 p.m. Sunday when a car traveling east on the turn lane of Moravia Road struck the motorcycle, according to police. Witnesses said the car stopped in the 4300 block of Belair Road and a woman exited, checking on the officer before getting back into the car and leaving the area heading north on Belair Road, police said.

Police said the car is believed to be a Ford Taurus.

The officer was taken to an area hospital.
