BOWMAN, SC : 1 dead following crash with cement truck in Orangeburg County on Wednesday, 23rd October 2024

One person is dead after a crash in Orangeburg County Wednesday afternoon, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP).

Troopers said a 1986 Mercedes was driving east on I-26 near mile marker 161, around eight miles north of Bowman, at around 2:30 p.m.

The Mercedes collided with a cement truck that was traveling east in another lane, according to SCHP.

The driver of the Mercedes was injured and taken to the hospital, where they later died. No information on the victim’s identity has been released at this time.
