One man was killed in a single-car crash on James Island early Monday morning.
Officials say a crash on Maybank Hwy and Woodland Shores Road was called in at 2:17 a.m.
A driver took a turn too quickly, went off the road and hit two parked church buses, according to Charleston County Sheriff's Office Capt. Burnsed.
Authorities say his vehicle continued moving, eventually striking a bus that shielded the sanctuary building.
The driver was ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The coroner's office is working to notify the victim's family.
