HARRISON COUNTY, MS : Suspect injured after crashing stolen van on Friday, January 20th 2017
Harrison County, Miisissippi
A Bay St. Louis man was taken to the hospital with minor injuries after crashing a van he allegedly stole Friday morning.
Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson said the van was reported stolen from the 6400 block of Vidalia Rd. in Pass Christian, and the crash happened a short time later on Kiln-Delisle Rd. in Hancock County.
Glenn Grannan, Chief Investigator with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department, said the crash was not the result of a chase, and the stolen van was the only vehicle involved.
Grannan said it appears Nikolas Boureois, 22, lost control of the van, left the roadway, and slammed into a power pole in the 2400 block of Kiln-Delisle Rd.
Boureois was arrested at the crash scene. After being treated at Garden Park Medical Center, he was arrested and charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $45,000.
