Millbury, OH : Person killed in wrong-way crash on I-280 in Lake Township on Wednesday, January 25, 2017

One man is dead after driving toward oncoming traffic and crashing today on I-280 in Lake Township, troopers said.

Raymond Pacheco, Sr., 88, of Toledo, was pronounced dead at the scene at about 12:27 p.m. He entered I-280 at State Rt. 795 by traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, according to the Bowling Green post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Pacheco then collided with a vehicle driven by Wayne Curtis 68, of Ottawa Lake, Mich. His vehicle went off the road and into the median. He did not wear a seat belt, authorities said.

Mr. Curtis and his passenger, Steven Smith, 50, of Ottawa Lake, Mich. were transported to ProMedica Bay Park Hospital. Troopers said their injuries did not appear life threatening.
