Mansfield, OH : Men aged 70, 81 and 86 years involved in serious injury crash on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Three elderly men were injured in a serious injury crash at about at about 12:50 p.m. today at U.S. 30 between Rock Road and 4th Street, Mansfield.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash that occurred when 86-year-old Chester Millheim, of Ashland was driving his 1997 White Lincoln Town Car the wrong direction on U.S. 30 and struck 81-year-old John Harsh’s 2015 Red Chevrolet Impala head on.

Millheim and Harsh, of Gallion, were transported to OhioHealth Mansfield with non-life threatening injuries. Harsh’s passenger, Ernie Hall, 70, of Gallion was transported to OSU Hospital in Columbus by MedFlight with serious injuries.

Ontario Police Department and Springfield Fire assisted on scene and with traffic control. U.S. 30 eastbound was closed for approximately three hours. All lanes of travel are now open.
