Lebanon, OH : 51-year-old Ronald Hoeffler Jr., killed in a fatal crash involved three tractor-trailers and a commercial van on I-71 in Lebanon on Tuesday, April 28, 2015

A section of Interstate 71 closed for several hours after a fatal crash has reopened.

The State Highway Patrol says the crash around 9:30 Tuesday morning involved three tractor-trailers and a commercial van. A section of southbound I-71 between Cincinnati and Dayton just past the State Route 73 exit was shut down.

The patrol reports that Warren County's coroner says 51-year-old Ronald Hoeffler Jr., of Lebanon, died at the scene. Troopers say no one else was injured.

A dispatcher says I-71 had reopened by around 4:30 p.m.

The patrol says its preliminary investigation indicates traffic had backed up due to a lane closure for bridge construction, and Hoeffler was stopped behind a tractor-trailer. The patrol says another tractor-trailer then struck Hoeffler's van from behind, forcing it off the road.
