HAZLETON, PA : A car struck the front entrance of a business on North Wyoming on Tuesday, June 13, 2017
A car struck the front entrance of a business on North Wyoming Street on Tuesday morning.
Deputy Fire Chief Brian Mandak said a driver with a learner’s permit was attempting to make a right turn from Wyoming Street onto Green Street when she drove into the front of Prestigio Restaurant at 40 N. Wyoming St. before 7 a.m.
The driver then apparently attempted to back up and the car became hung up on a downed street sign, he said.
The front entry of the business was damaged and splintered but there was no structural damage, Mandak said. The city’s code enforcement office will inspect the storefront, he said.
The city’s street department and police were also on scene.
