LOWELL, MA : A single-car accident on Boston Road on Tuesday, November, 28th 2017
Two men were rushed to area hospitals following a single-car accident on Boston Road between Edson and Westlawn cemeteries on Tuesday night.
A call about the rollover crash came over the emergency radio broadcast about 11:50 p.m.
Leading up to spot where the vehicle laid crumpled and on its roof were tire marks in the roadway and in the dirt along the side of the road. Pieces of the car littered the area for dozens of feet leading up the the car's resting spot.
A fire hydrant was severed.
A woman at the scene said that she came upon the crash while driving home. She pointed out that she almost struck one of the occupants of the vehicle who was walking around in the roadway. When she stopped, she noticed another person who had been inside the car was on the ground.
"The one on the ground said he couldn't move," she said.
She was stunned by the condition of the vehicle.
"I couldn't believe they were out of the car and alive," she said.
Lowell Fire Lt. Mike McCluskey said that he had limited information about the crash aside from the men being transported to area hospitals.
