SHREWSBURY, VE : Woman charged with DUI in crash on Wednesday, December 7th 2016

A Rutland woman is charged with driving drunk after police said she went into a ditch off Route 103.

Vermont State Police said Jennifer Porter, 25, was driving on the snow-covered road a little after 4 a.m. Wednesday when she went off the far side and into a ditch.

Police said Porter showed signs of impairment at the scene, and a breath test put her blood-alcohol level at 0.238 — almost three times the legal driving limit of 0.08.

Police said she as cited to appear in Rutland criminal court Dec. 26, then released to a sober party.
