FOXBOROUGH, MA : Driver faces charges in crash that hurt Patriots player on Monday, October, 23rd 2017

A New England Patriots linebacker and his wife are home Monday after being injured in a serious crash in Foxborough more than a week ago. New court documents also indicate that the driver blamed for the crash faces several charges.

Rookie linebacker Harvey Langi and his wife, Cassidy, were among those involved in a serious three-car crash on Route 140 at Fisher Street. Three other people were also injured and were transported to hospitals for treatment.

Two men, Steven Gordon and Kevin Conroy, refused medical treatment. According to court documents, they were in the Jeep that caused the crash.According to a police report, a firefighter told officers that someone had run from Conroy's Jeep after the crash. This was later discovered to be Gordon, who was found at a nearby business.

Gordon later told officers that he "'panicked' due to the severity of the crash."

The two men gave investigating officers different stories about their night, the report said. Gordon denied having any drugs in the car and also said they were coming from a restaurant in Foxborough. Conroy, however, told the officers they were coming from a different restaurant in Mansfield.

Police noted that Conroy appeared "very agitated and gave the overall appearance of someone who may be under the influence of drugs."

"I don't know this area, I was going straight and these cars just stopped in front of me," Conroy told the officers, according to the report.

Police, however, noted that it appeared Conroy had made no effort to brake before the impact. The officers estimated the Jeep was traveling at approximately 50 mph at the time of the crash.

An open nip bottle of whiskey was found in the car and Conroy was found to be carrying a large amount of prescription drugs.

Conroy passed a field sobriety test and a blood test found no alcohol in his blood. Officers noted, however, that patients are advised not to drive or use machinery when taking two of the drugs that were found.

Conroy faces charges of drug possession, possessing an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, a marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, court documents indicate. The drug charge is a felony.

As a result of the crash, Langi and his wife spent several days in different hospitals being treated for their serious injuries. Their reunion in Cassidy's hospital room was posted on social media.

Now that the couple is back home, Langi shared a new video on his Instagram story.

“Hey, welcome home, baby,” he said as his wife slowly sat down on the couch.
