Fresno, CA : Malcolm Hoegh Jr., 53, killed in motorcycle crash south of Selma on Wednesday night, September 21, 2016
A Selma man was killed Wednesday night in a fatal crash that occurred south of Selma, officials said.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Thursday identified him as Malcolm Hoegh Jr., 53.
A call to the California Highway Patrol came in around 8:10 p.m. about a vehicle colliding with a motorcycle near Mountain View and Thompson avenues, the CHP said.
Hoegh, who was not wearing a helmet, was riding a Honda motorcycle south on Thompson when he failed to stop at a stop sign and started to cross Mountain View, where he was struck by a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup driven by Manjit Singh, 37, also of Selma, who was driving west on Mountain View, CHP spokesman Axel Reyes said Thursday.
Hoegh was thrown from his motorcycle, which burst into flames after the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Reyes said.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash, he said.
