Tulsa,OK : Two dead after collision on Oklahoma 82 north of Tahlequah on March, Monday 26th 2018
Two people died Monday in a three-vehicle collision on a state highway north of Tahlequah.
Cody Vernon Harvey, 27, of Peggs, and Lana Leann Snyder, 46, of Tahlequah, died in the collision, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Harvey was driving a Ford Expedition southbound on Oklahoma 82 when the Expedition “for an unknown reason” crossed the center line, according to an OHP report. The Expedition struck a Honda CR-V on the driver side. The Honda vehicle, whose driver was not injured, ran off the road.
The Expedition continued northbound and struck a Chevrolet Camaro, driven by Snyder, according to the report. That collision was head-on. The Camaro and Honda were both southbound on the road.
Emergency responders transported Snyder and Harvey to a Tahlequah hospital, where they were both pronounced dead, according to the report.
Troopers state in the report that the roadway was dry and all involved in the collision were wearing seat belts. The cause of the collision and Harvey’s condition at the time of collision remain under investigation.
Troopers shut down Oklahoma 82 for about 3½ hours while investigating the collision that occurred about 14 miles north of Tahlequah.
