Issaquah ,WA : Pedestrian struck, killed trying to cross Interstate 90 on Wednesday'morning ,July 15th 2015

The Washington State Patrol says a 53-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle when she tried to cross Interstate 90 in Issaquah during Wednesday's morning commute.

Trooper Chris Webb says the woman apparently witnessed a crash in the left shoulder of the westbound lanes of I-90. He says she pulled her semi-truck over to the right shoulder and tried to cross the freeway to get to the shoulder of the left lane. She was hit in the HOV lane.

The patrol identified her as Katherine Jones of Duvall.

Webb says he's not sure what she was doing or why.

The crash backed up traffic for a couple of hours.
