Neillsville,Wi : Willard woman died in collision with tractor on Wednesday, January, 10th 2018
A woman is dead after vehicle she was driving collided with a tractor on in the town of Hendren on Wednesday.
According to a news release from the Clark County sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a 911 call of the crash at about 5:53 p.m. Wednesday.
A pick-up truck driven by Marilyn A. Ruppelt, 57, was headed east on Highway GG when her vehicle hit the back of a tractor driven by Wiliam J. Kokaly, 70. Ruppelt was prounounced dead at the scene and Kokaly was transported by ambulance to the Neillsville Memorial Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
The truck came to a stop in the eastbound lane. The tractor stopped immediately after being hit.
Speed and weather appear to be factors in the accident. Ruppelt was not wearing a seat belt.
Along with the sheriff’s office, the Greenwood Area Fire Department and Ambulance Service, Thorp Area Ambulance Service, Spirit Ambulance and deputy coroner responded to the scene.
The sheriff’s and coroner’s offices are continuing to investigate the accident.
This is the first traffic fatality in 2018 in Clark County.
