GEARY, OK : Blaine County crash sends OKC woman to hospital on Monday, January, 15th 2018
A late afternoon crash Monday in Blaine County sent an Oklahoma City woman to the hospital.
Two cars collided 5:50 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. 270 and County Road 940 about 1 mile north of Geary, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
A 2016 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, driven by 61-year-old Candieta Sue Wade, of Oklahoma City, was southbound on U.S. 270 behind a 2012 Peterbilt semi, driven by 46-year-old Cody Joe Canterberry, of Okemah, according to OHP.
The Peterbilt slowed to make a right turn at County Road 940 when the Mercedes-Benz struck it from behind, according to OHP. Wade was pinned for approximately 20 minutes before being extricated with a crow bar by Geary Fire Department.
Wade was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with truck internal and leg injuries, according to OHP. Canterberry was not injured in the crash.
The conditions of both drivers were apparently normal, both had seat belts in use, and the cause of the collision is under investigation, according to OHP.
