Frederick, MD : Woman dies of injuries suffered in crash on U.S. 15 Friday morning, October 17, 2014
A woman died from injuries she suffered when her car went left of center and struck an oncoming tractor-trailer Friday morning on U.S. 15 in Frederick County, Md., Maryland State Police said.
Tara L. Sherwin, 42, of Mt. Airy, Md., was pronounced dead at Frederick Memorial Hospital, according to a state police news release.
Troopers said Sherwin was traveling north on U.S. 15 when the Toyota Camry she was driving went left of center and collided with a tractor-trailer being driven by Richard E. Edmonds Jr., 48, of Crewe, Va.
Police said Edmonds was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman said the truck driver was treated and released.
The accident, which happened at about 4:30 a.m. south of Basford Road, was being investigated by the Maryland State Police Western Region Reconstruction Team, according to the release.
