Anderson Township, OH : School bus driver hurt in four-vehicle crash in Anderson Township on Friday, October 31, 2014
Officials responded to a school bus crash in the 2200 block of Wolfangel Road in Anderson Township Friday.
The accident was reported around 2:30 p.m. and involved two other vehicles, according to emergency dispatch.
Officials say a 16-year-old was operating his vehicle, a 2002 Toyota Camry, southbound on Wolfangel Road. As he attempted to negotiate a curve in the roadway, he lost control of his vehicle in the rain and crossed over the double yellow line. The Toyota then struck a Forest Hills school bus with children on board.
According to a release, the Toyota was then redirected back onto his side of the roadway then a 1997 Toyota Camry crashed into the 2002 Toyota when it stopped in the lane of travel.
A fourth vehicle, a 2001 Chrysler Sebring, had been traveling behind the bus. When the bus became suddenly disabled in the roadway, the Chrysler was unable to stop on the wet roadway and slid into the rear bumper of the bus, according to officials.
There were a total of 24 students on the bus and one bus driver at the time of the crash.
The Anderson Township Fire department transported the driver of the bus to Mercy Anderson Hospital for minor injuries.
None of the students were injured on the bus.
A student told they were being transported from Nagel Middle School.
The driver and occupants of the three other vehicles were also not injured.
Officials say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
The 16-year-old driver was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle
