ALBANY, IN : 5-car crash closes Ind. 28/67 on Wednesday, November 30th 2016

A series of crashes just south of Albany Wednesday afternoon closed Ind. 28/67 in both directions and left traffic backed up for miles along the highway.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday, an SUV was rear-ended by another vehicle along a stretch of two-lane highway near the Muncie Dragway, according to police and emergency scanner traffic. Another vehicle then also hit the SUV, and two other vehicles drove off the road to avoid that crash, one of them hitting a fence and the other a utility pole.

Emergency crews reported three minor injuries and one serious leg injury among those in the vehicles.
