Sacramento, CA : Woman and child in rollover crash in Vallejo on Tuesday, January, 9th 2018
A woman was rushed to North Bay Trauma Center after being extricated from her vehicle following a rollover crash Tuesday morning, Vallejo Fire Department officials said.
The car in which a woman and her daughter were traveling came to rest on Sage Street, after coming off of eastbound Highway 37, department spokesman Kevin A. Brown said.
“It rolled down the hill and came to rest on its roof against a chain link fence, he said. “The wet roadway is believed to be a factor in the crash.”
CHP is performing the full accident investigation, he said.
The call came in just after 8 a.m., and was initially reported as a crash on Highway 37 eastbound between Fairgrounds and Interstate 80, Brown said.
What responders found was a sedan that had rolled onto its roof, Brown and Battalion Chief Cliff Campbell said.
They found that the 6-year-old passenger had been able to exit the vehicle on her own, but her mother, who’d been driving, required extrication, the men said.
“We stabilized the vehicle to keep it from sliding further, and created an opening large enough for her to get out,” Campbell said.
