Ventura County, CA : Five people injured in crash on Highway 118 in Simi Valley on Tuesday, July 19, 2016

Five people were taken to a local hospital after a vehicle rolled over on Highway 118 in Simi Valley, officials said.

The crash was reported just after 4 p.m. on the westbound side of the freeway west of the Kuehner Drive exit, according to the California Highway Patrol. A sport utility vehicle rolled over and landed on its side in a ditch, the patrol reported.

There were eight people in the vehicle and six of them were reportedly injured, the Ventura County Fire Department said. Two ambulances responded to the scene to take five people to a local hospital, fire officials said.

The injured were taken to Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, the patrol reported. The agency called the incident a minor injury crash.
