Lebanon, MO : Okla. man injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 44, east of Lebanon on Tuesday, July 26, 2016
A Yukon, Okla. man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at 12:08 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 44, two miles east of Lebanon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Richard F. Grammer, 75, of Colby, Wis., the driver of a 2016 Freightliner tractor trailer, was stopped in traffic due to a motor vehicle crash ahead and was struck in the rear by a westbound 2013 GMC pickup driven by Koltin C. Ellis, 22, of Yukon, Okla.
Ellis was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Lebanon with what the patrol described as serious injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Lebanon Rural Fire Protection District Chief Phillip Pitts said fire crews arrived on the scene to find that the pickup truck had run underneath the back of the tractor trailer. Other agencies responding to the accident were the Lebanon Fire Department, the Missouri Highway Patrol, the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office and Mercy Hospital Lebanon ambulance crews.
