One person is dead after a serious crash on an Interstate 95 northbound ramp in Old Saybrook that shut down the ramp and caused delays Thursday morning.
LifeStar was called to respond to the crash on the I-95 north exit 68 on-ramp and then canceled. Multiple people were extricated from the vehicle, which landed against a guard rail alongside a wall.
The small, red vehicle had heavy front end damage.
The ramp was shut down for several hours, but the scene has since cleared. The accident happened just before the bridge that spans the Connecticut River.
An accident reconstruction team responded to investigate.
It's unknown how many people were involved.
