Lubbock, TX : Motorcyclist in critical condition after South Lubbock accident on Sunday afternoon, October 2, 2016

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle accident near FM 1730 and just north of CR 7500 on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred around 1:45 p.m. and involved an SUV and a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was following a GMC Yukon when the Yukon was slowing to turn onto 7500. The motorcycle slid underneath the rear of the Yukon.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to University Medical Center and is in critical condition. Police have identified him as Paul Stone.

The crash is under investigation at this time.
