LANSING, MI : 3 children injured in hit-run crash on Lansing's south side on Monday, 23rd December, 2019

Three young children were injured in a hit-and-run crash Monday night on Lansing's south side.

The children, all under 5 years old, were with an adult crossing South Cedar Street from the Meijer parking lot when they were hit by a vehicle about 7:20 p.m., Lansing police said.The children were taken to a hospital and were reported in stable condition, Sgt. Mandi Beasinger said. The adult was not injured, she said.

The vehicle involved in the crash was not at the scene when police arrived, Beasinger said. Witnesses said the vehicle was a dark-colored sport-utility vehicle, she said.

Police were gathering security video from businesses in the area in an effort to identify the vehicle, the sergeant said.

South Cedar was completely closed in the area.
