Rochester, N.H : Man seriously injured in 'road-rage' crash on Spaulding Turnpike on Sunday afternoon, June 26, 2016

A Rollinsford man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon in a crash on the Spaulding Turnpike in Rochester.

State police said Lee Norton, 62, was traveling south in a Saab next to a Chevrolet pickup truck that was hauling multiple ATVs when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Witnesses told officers at the scene that Norton and the other driver were engaged in a "road-rage" incident and were "antagonizing" each other, according to police.

Police said Norton crashed into the guardrail, careened across the highway and struck a Subaru being driven by Jeffrey Cahill, 25, of Massachusetts.

Cahill was not hurt. Norton suffered serious head injuries. He was flown to Maine Medical Center for treatment. The pickup driver drove away from the scene, police said.

The highway was closed for about 20 minutes.

The crash is under investigation.
