A Lake Stevens woman was critically injured Saturday afternoon after a car plowed into her minivan on Highway 9.
Her 5-year-old son suffered a broken leg in the crash, said Mark Francis, a trooper with the Washington State Patrol.
The collision happened about 2:40 p.m. near 64th Street NE. A northbound Subaru crossed the center line and smashed into the minivan, Francis said.
The car’s driver, an Arlington man, was not seriously hurt. His passenger suffered a leg injury.
Paramedics took the injured to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The woman, 35, was moved to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. She had multiple broken bones and internal injuries, Francis said.
It was unclear on Saturday why the driver crossed into oncoming traffic. There was no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, Francis said
The road was blocked for about three hours while troopers investigated..
