Jacksonville, TX : Serious injuries reported in multi-vehicle wreck on U.S. 79 Monday evening, November 14, 2016

Emergency services personnel responded to a call Monday evening regarding a multi-vehicle wreck at U.S. Highway 79 and FM 747, according to Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell.

At this time, reports of a fatality could not be confirmed, but Campbell said serious injuries were reported, with one victim taken to the hospital by helicopter.

“We don't know for sure if there's been a fatality,” he said, adding that the call came in at 5:43 p.m.

DPS is handling the investigation.
